“Wizard’s Arcade” Update #8: The Power Assist Nudge.
A lot of players don’t have the physical strength to effectively nudge a pinball machine. This invention uses a player input device (such as a joystick) to nudge the playfield. Pinball historians will quickly state that Bally Nudgy (1947) had a nudge feature. This concept would be a great improvement over a mechanical lever that would only nudge that game one direction.
This concept would use four motors with cams that could nudge the playfield any direction (8 different ways). Only the playfield would nudge while the cabinet remains stationary.
